World Environment Day 2024

On the 5th of June 2024, the KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences in Chikodi orchestrated a vibrant celebration in honor of World Environment Day. The central goal of this gathering was to ignite a deeper understanding of environmental preservation among students. With the theme of “Land Restoration:  Desertification and Drought Resilience,” the event sought to shed light on pressing ecological challenges.

Dr. Sunil M. B, the esteemed Principal of KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, spearheaded the event with grace and enthusiasm.

The highlight of the celebration was a captivating “Eco drama” presented by second-semester BSc Nursing students. Their performance aimed to captivate young minds and instill a sense of responsibility towards environmental conservation. The narrative encouraged embracing trees, safeguarding their existence, and combating pollution for a greener tomorrow.

Also, an “Eco Club ” was formed under the guidance of the principal, Dr. Sunil M. B. In a symbolic gesture of commitment, members of the Eco Club pledged to nurture and care for individual plants across the KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences campus, embodying their dedication to preserving the natural world.

International Nurses Day 2024

The KLE Society’s of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, commemorated International Nurses Day on 12th May 2024, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing. This year, the International Council of Nurses chose the theme “OUR NURSES, OUR FUTURE: The Economic Power of Care.”

Mrs. Ashirwad M. D., Senior Nursing Officer, KLE Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Chikodi, graced the event as the esteemed chief guest, lending her prestige to the occasion. The formal proceedings commenced with a prayer song by Ms. Bhagyashree T.  B.Sc Nursing II Semester Student, setting a serene tone for the program. Ms. Spoorti N., Senior nursing tutor, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while the chief guest, Mrs. Ashirwad M. D., inaugurated the event by honoring Florence Nightingale with a ceremonial lamp lighting and a cake cutting ceremony.

Mrs. Ashirwad M. D. emphasized the crucial role of nurses in healthcare, highlighting that they constitute sixty percent of healthcare professionals and are often at the forefront of patient care. She underscored that nurses are not just caregivers but also catalysts for change, working tirelessly to address the evolving challenges in healthcare. Dr. Sunil M. B., the Principal of KLE Society’s of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, addressed gathering about the theme of the event, importance of valuing, respecting, protecting and investing in nursing profession. Dr. Sunil M. B also emphasized that investing in nurses is synonymous with investing in a brighter future of healthcare.

The celebration provided a platform for students to showcase their talents through article writing and digital poster presentation competitions centered around the theme “OUR NURSES, OUR FUTURE: The Economic Power of Care.” The enthusiastic participation of students added vibrancy to the program. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, the principal, faculty, students, and all involved in making the International Nurses Day celebration a resounding success.

World Health Day 2024

The World Health Day celebrated at KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences in Chikodi on April 7th, 2024, aimed to highlight global health issues and inspire efforts to tackle them. This year’s theme, “MY HEALTH, MY RIGHT,” emphasized health as a fundamental human entitlement.

Esteemed guest Dr. Babu Desai from Ayurveda Medical College, Chikodi graced the occasion, adding prestige. The event showcased student talent through a speech competition centered on the theme. Dr. Babu Desai shared valuable insights, encouraging resilience and perseverance. He recognized the winners and participants, fostering a spirit of enthusiasm. It concluded with sincere appreciation for Dr. Babu Desai and a call to action to make health a universal right.

Annual Sports Meet 2024

First Annual Sports Meet KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi was a vibrant celebration of athleticism. The events were conducted on March 22nd and 23rd 2024. The event welcomed esteemed guests, including Dr. Milan Kamble, a prominent scientist, RTPCR Lab, General Hospital, Chikodi and also a fitness coach. Prof. Darshankumar D. Billur, Principal, KLE CB Kore Polytechnic College, Chikodi as President of the event, added a distinguished presence to the occasion.

The Sports Meet provided a platform for students from the first and third semesters of BSc Nursing to showcase their athletic abilities and team spirit. From track and field events to team sports like kabaddi, throwball, and volleyball, and individual games like chess and badminton, the students displayed remarkable skill and determination. The Annual Sports Meet 2024 was not only a showcase of physical fitness but also a testament to the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork instilled through sporting endeavors.

Lamp Lighting Ceremony 2024

On February 17, 2024, KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi hosted the Pratigya-2024 ceremony, marking the Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony for the 2nd Batch of B.Sc Nursing Students. The event was filled with significance, honor, and inspiration. The ceremony marked a crucial milestone in the journey of budding nurses. The ceremony commenced with a soul-stirring prayer, seeking blessings for the journey ahead.

Dr. Sunil M.B, Principal, KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi extended a warm welcome to distinguished guests, attendees and emphasized the importance of nursing in the healthcare ecosystem.

The Dignitaries of the Function Dr. Sharanappa S. Gaded, Additional District Health & Family Welfare Officer, Chikodi. Dr. Sukumar Bhagai, Taluk Health Officer, Chikodi. Dr. Prasad B Rampure, Principal, KLE College of Engineering & Technology, Chikodi and Life Member, KLE Society, Belagavi, highlighted the noble virtues of the nursing profession and encouraged the students to uphold integrity, empathy, and professionalism in their practice.

The ceremony continued with the lighting of the lamp by students to the ritual underscored the commitment of the nursing profession to provide compassionate care and uphold the highest standards of excellence.
