World AIDS Day 2025 Organized by: District Administration and Zilla Panchayat, Belagavi, District Health and Family Welfare Department, Belagavi, Additional District Health and Family Welfare Office, Chikodi, Government Hospital, Chikodi, Sub-Divisional Officers, Revenue Department, Chikodi, Taluka Administrative Municipality, Chikodi, Education Department, Chikodi, Department of Justice, Taluka Legal Services Authority and Lawyers’ Association, Chikodi, Taluk Health Officer Office, Chikodi, A.R.T. and I.C.T.C. Centre, Chikodi. On December 3, 2025. Theme of this year is “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response”.
An AIDS Awareness Rally was organized as part of the observance. The rally began at the Taluk Health Officer Office, Chikodi, and proceeded towards Basaveshwara Circle Chikodi. Students of the 6th Semester B.Sc. Nursing from KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, actively participated in the rally, demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment to spreading awareness about AIDS prevention and stigma reduction.

KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi celebrated Freshers’ Day for the fourth batch of B.Sc. Nursing students on 22 November 2025 with great happiness and enthusiasm. The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sunil M. B. The program began with a prayer song followed by the ceremonial watering of the plant by the Chief Guest, Mr. Praveen Gudi, a renowned motivator and life coach. His presence added immense value to the occasion, making the atmosphere vibrant and inspiring.
During the event, the elected members of the Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) took their official oath, administered by the SNA Advisor, Mr. Sachin L. S., Nursing Tutor. The highlight of the program was the motivating speech delivered by the Chief Guest, Mr. Praveen Gudi. He inspired the students by sharing real-life experiences and emphasizing the importance of positive change, consistent efforts, goal-setting, and focused dedication. Through practical examples, he encouraged students to dream big, live their dreams, and work hard to achieve them. He also extended his best wishes to all aspiring future nursing officers. In the afternoon, cultural activities were conducted, including ramp walk, singing, and dance performances. Students actively participated, showcasing their talents with enthusiasm. This year, Mr. Manjunath mudhole and Ms. Vidya Sutar were crowned Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher respectively. Overall, the program was joyful, engaging, and memorable for everyone involved.
As per the directions received from HO, KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi celebrated 110th Foundation Day of KLE Society in association with KLE School, Chikodi on 14.11.2025 with great enthusiasm and pride. The Foundation Day is a significant event in the organization’s history, marking the 110 years of its existence, growth, and achievements. To pay respects to Founders of the KLE Society, the Heads of both institutions performed pooja on 14.11.2025 (Friday) at KLE School, Chikodi. As part of the celebrations, the institution building was illuminated the with LCD Flood Lights on 11.11.2025.

We celebrated our successes, innovation, and dedication that have led us to where we are today. Foundation Day Celebrations served as a reminder of our organization’s history and the potential for a brighter future.
KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi observed Nutrition Day on 10th November 2025. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Anna Francis, MBBS, MD (Biochemistry, JIPMER), FIDM (UK), Specialist in Diabetes at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Chikodi. The programme was organized under the proficient guidance of Dr. Sunil M. B., Principal of the Institute.
The event commenced with a melodious prayer song rendered by Ms. Prema Hosamani, a 2nd semester B.Sc. Nursing student. This was followed by the ceremonial watering of the plant by the Chief Guest along with faculty members, symbolizing growth and sustainability. The welcome address and introduction of the Chief Guest was delivered by Mrs. Pushpa M., Nursing Tutor. KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi participated in a webinar on “Disability Inclusive Maternity Care” hosted by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the UNFPA Asia-Pacific Regional Office, in collaboration with the Bournet Institute, Australia, on October 16, 2025. World Suicide Prevention Day 2025 was observed at KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi on 10th September 2025, under the guidance of Dr. Sunil M. B, Principal of the Institute. On this occasion, students and faculty members actively participated in various activities to promote awareness on suicide prevention. As a gesture of solidarity, candles were lit near a window to symbolize support for suicide prevention, to remember a lost loved one and for the survivors of suicide.
Furthermore, the 4th Semester B.Sc. Nursing students extended this initiative beyond the campus by conducting outreach programs at selected workplaces. Using educational materials on mental health and suicide prevention and information about Telemanas (Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States) they sensitized employees across diverse settings—including banks, vehicle showrooms, companies, schools, and both private and government offices—thereby spreading the message of awareness and support within the community.
The Teachers’ Day celebration at KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi was observed by the students with great enthusiasm and joy on 06-09-2025. The programme began with a melodious welcome song presented by Ms. Prema. Hosamani. 2nd semester B.Sc. Nursing student. The students extended a warm welcome to the Principal, Dr. Sunil M. B, along with the entire faculty. A cake-cutting ceremony, organized by the students, added a delightful touch to the occasion. KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, observed the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on 15th August 2025 under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Sunil M. B. The event was graced by the presence of invited guests, Dr. Vithal Venkappa Shinde (MBBS, MS – General Surgeon), and Mrs. V. S. N. Varalakshmi, Principal of KLE School, Chikodi. As part of the observance, a sapling plantation drive was conducted within the college campus. The Principal, invited guests, staff, and students actively participated in the event.
A mass pledge was taken by all attendees to support the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free India. In addition, students also participated in the e-pledge initiative against drug abuse. The program served as an important step in raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among the youth.

The event, held on the theme “Invest in Breastfeeding, Invest in Future”, took place on 08-08- 2025 from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm at Shivalaya Mandir Auditorium, Ankali.

The invited guest speaker, Dr. Aravind Minache, Consultant in Obstetrics and Genecology at KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Chikodi.
The event was presided over by Dr. Sunil M. B., Principal, KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi. In their presidential address, he emphasized on support systems of breastfeeding women, their health care, support of family and work place, the importance of breastfeeding and the nutritional needs of antenatal & postnatal mothers and feeding today will reduce health problems in future. World Hepatitis Day observed on 28th July 2025, the students and faculty of KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi actively participated in a National Webinar for Nurses jointly organized by the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) and the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
This year’s theme, “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down,” focused on raising awareness and promoting proactive measures for the prevention and control of hepatitis. The webinar featured a panel of distinguished speakers who delivered insightful sessions on key topics such as: The Ten Commandments of Liver Health, Nurses as Torchbearers of Hepatitis Prevention, An Overview of Hepatitis and Nurses as Fatty Liver Ambassadors
The session was highly engaging and informative, emphasizing the crucial role of nurses in hepatitis prevention, early detection, and community education. It served as a motivating platform for nursing professionals to strengthen their commitment to liver health advocacy.
KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi actively participated in a webinar organized by TeleMANAS (Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States), Bengaluru. During the session, TeleMANAS representatives provided valuable insights into various aspects of mental health, including stress, depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders, along with practical strategies for overcoming them. The speakers also highlighted the TeleMANAS helpline number, emphasizing its purpose, benefits, and how it can be effectively utilized by the public to access mental health support. The webinar proved to be highly informative and beneficial for both the faculty and students of the institute, enhancing their understanding of mental health care and available resources.
“World Population Day 2025” was observed on July 11, 2025, at KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, under the inspiring theme: “Empowering Young People to Create the Families They Want in a Fair and Hopeful World.”
Under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. Sunil M. B., the institute organized an impactful outreach program at Kerur village, Chikodi Taluk. The event aimed to raise awareness about population control and was highlighted by a role play performance conducted by the nursing students. They utilized IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials such as flashcards and audio-visual aids to effectively communicate their message. The program benefitted a wide audience, including students and teaching and non teaching staff of the Government Public Primary and High Schools, as well as villagers and local community members, who actively witnessed and engaged with the session.
Faculty members Mr. Mounesh Badiger. Assistant Professor and Mrs. Pushpa M. Lecturer accompanied the students, playing an essential role in the smooth execution and success of the event.
In addition to the outreach activity, a Panel Discussion was held on the theme, facilitated by Mrs. Sonali Rathod Senior Tutor and moderated by Ms. Priya Pujar, a 6th-semester B.Sc. Nursing student. enhancing their skills and knowledge with increased enthusiasm in future events. The panel discussion concluded with a lively Q&A session, where both faculty and student attendees actively interacted with the panellists, deepening the conversation and understanding around population-related challenges.
The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences with other constituent institutions of KLE Society, Chikodi. The celebration took place at KLE College of Engineering and Technology, Chikodi for “YOGA SANGAM” for the all students and staffs was graced by the presence of the Principals from various KLE Society institutions, adding significance to the occasion. The program began with a devotional prayer song, setting a serene tone for the day. Dr. Kiran Mutnali, Principal of KLE’s Ayurvedic College, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the dignitaries and attendees. This was followed by an engaging yoga session led by Mr. Kartik, a professional yoga instructor, who skillfully guided participants through a series of asanas and breathing exercises.
Dr. Prasad Rampure, Life Member of KLE Society and Principal of KLE College of Engineering and Technology, Chikodi, delivered a motivational speech, emphasizing the vital role of yoga in maintaining physical and mental wellness. Dr. Santosh, faculty member of KLE’s Ayurvedic College, then led the audience in taking the official Yoga Day pledge. The vote of thanks conveyed by Dr. Dharshan. Billur. In alignment with this year’s theme “Haritha Yoga – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, a special tree-planting initiative was launched to honor and promote environmental sustainability alongside personal health. Students from KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, students and staffs actively took part in a range of activities. They took the “Yoga for Health and Environment” pledge via the Government of India’s MyGovt. portal and downloaded their certificates. In addition, they participated in the IDY online quiz competition for promoting wellness at both personal and community levels.

The program commenced with a prayer song, followed by garlanding the portrait of Florence Nightingale, honoring her as the pioneer of modern nursing. Ms. Sonali. Rathod., Senior Nursing Tutor, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the event.
Distinguished Guests for the event included nursing professionals from: Mother and Child Government Hospital, Chikodi, KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Chikodi. Dr. Sunil M. B., Principal of the Institute, delivered the Presidential Address, expressing sincere gratitude to all the guest nurses from both hospitals. He elaborated on the 2025 theme: “Our Nurses. Our Future. Healing the Healers”, emphasizing the importance of nurses’ well-being and their crucial role in spreading happiness and healing. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Sachin S, Nursing Tutor. Following the formal ceremony, invited nurses participated in interactive sessions and activities focused on the theme “Healing the Healers”. An engaging discussion was also held among the faculty, principal, and guest nurses on the theme: “The Economic Power of Care.”
Students actively participated essay writing and poster presentation competitions on this year theme. The event was a grand success, filled with enthusiasm, reflection, and appreciation for the vital role nurses play in healthcare.
The International Midwifery Day 2025 was celebrated at KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, on May 5th, 2025. The event began with a prayer song performed by Ms. Bhagyashree Tungal, a 3rd-semester B.Sc. Nursing student, followed by the host, Ms. Sneha Patil, a Nursing Tutor. Mrs. Sonali Rathod, Senior Tutor, delivered the welcome speech.
The esteemed guests of the day, Nursing Midwives (Governmental Mother & Child Hospital, Chikodi) Mrs. Geeta Mudkani, a Nursing Officer, who shared her personal experiences as a nurse midwife. Mrs. Geeta S. Kumbar, another Nursing Officer, highlighted the importance of nursing practical skills, shared the number of deliveries she had conducted, and discussed the evolution of the nursing profession. She also spoke about the collaborative efforts of midwives with community members. Mrs. Vaishali Patil, a Nursing Officer, addressed the challenges faced in the nursing profession and provided possible solutions. Mr. Vishwanath Shettepagol, a Nursing Officer, shared insights about International Midwifery Day.

Umarani, a nationally and internationally recognized awardee in Human-Computer Interaction and an extraordinary individual, blind by birth. The first event, a Ramp Walk Competition themed “Walk with Confidence,” was a powerful representation of strength and empowerment. Each step taken on the ramp symbolized breaking barriers and embracing one’s identity with pride. The second activity, Storytelling – “Voices That Inspire,” provided a platform for participants to share real-life stories of courage, determination, and empowerment. These narratives highlighted the struggles and achievements of women from different walks of life, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
A significant highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Women Protection Cell in the institution. This initiative aims to encourage and support women within the institution by providing a safe space to voice their concerns.

The Annual Sports Meet 2025 at KLE Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, was a vibrant celebration of athleticism, enthusiasm, and team spirit. The event, held on February 21st and 22nd, witnessed remarkable participation from students across various semesters.
The festivities began on an inspiring note with an invocation song by Ms. Bhagyashri Tungal, a 3rd Semester BSc Nursing student, setting the perfect tone for the event.
The program was gracefully hosted by Ms. Akashata Patil and Ms. Vidya Vagge from the 5th Semester BSc Nursing. Honoring the occasion with their esteemed presence were Mr. Ashutosh Karade, an international sports player, and Mr. Suhel Ahmed Sahebwale, Physical Director of KLE School, Chikodi. The sports meet saw students from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th semesters competing in a variety of events, displaying exceptional skill and determination. Track and field events, team sports like kabaddi, throwball, and volleyball, as well as individual games like chess and badminton, highlighted the students’ versatility and competitive spirit.
Adding to the excitement, field events such as high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw kept spectators captivated, while relay races and sprints showcased the participants’ speed and agility. The Guest of Honor, Dr. Somashekarayya. V. Kalmath, former Senate member of RGUHS Bengaluru and Professor at KLE’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Hubballi, shared valuable insights on the noble virtues of the nursing profession. He guided the budding nurses on the importance of need-based learning and the profound impact of positive thinking in life. He also spoke about the significance of good things happening in life and the role of effective communication skills in both learning and patient care. On the occasion of World Cancer Day, KLES Institute of Nursing Sciences, Chikodi, promoted cancer literacy among people in Kerur village, Chikodi Taluk on 05-02-2025. Under the guidance of Dr. Yogesh B.K., Medical Officer, and Dr. Sunil M.B., Principal of the institute, along with the ASHA workers of Kerur, the initiative aimed to promote cancer literacy among the local community.
The 5th-semester, 3rd-year BSc Nursing students visited households in the village to educate residents about the prevention of oral, cervical, and breast cancer. With the help of Using Our flashcards, pamphlets, and digital posters They provided information on the signs and symptoms of these cancers, the harmful effects of tobacco consumption, and effective measures to control cancer.
